WHY USE A VISUAL JOURNAL
- JOURNAL CHECKS - you must have your journal with you EVERYDAY! Journals will be checked periodically
- LOST JOURNALS - IF you lose your Journal, replace it immediately
- ABSENCES - You are responsible for getting all Journal information filled out - you can get this by asking another student
- RESPECT the journal - Complete assignments carefully
- NO pages are to be torn out - If you mess it up, dress it up or glue a new piece of paper on top.
- Must have a table of contents
- Every page has a date and a number
- New project header page
- Includes Notes, Sketches, Handouts and Visual Journal Prompts
- Every page must include text, drawings, and utilize color
- Add decorative techniques to enhance the appearance of the page
- Experiment with fonts
- Gather found objects
- Doodling - illustrations - borders - creative designs are a must as long as they don't distract from the main idea of the page
